A Change of Seasons

Even when plans fall to pieces
I can still find the courage
With promise I've found in my faith

Likely or not, it's a dream that we keep
and at odds with our senses we'll climb
But if faith is the answer, we've already reached it
And if spirit's a sign then it's only a matter of time

It has been a year with a mix of events ranging from the best to the worst. A year where potentials were tapped and hitherto unknown areas were explored. A year which taught me how much one grows every single day and how much each day has to offer.

A year which brought about a change of heart and showed me that courage is what works in the worst situation. 2007 started well and ended up shredding my soul ( the death of my dog Bondu).

As in the above song, it is only a matter of time before I reach and achieve what I've always dreamed of. It is with DT by my side that some of the worst moments in life were transcended. Thank you Dream Theater. Welcome 2008. Bring on the New Year!

Broken Heart

'I know what its like to lose someone you love'.... This song called 'Through her eyes' is the most soulful love song I've heard to date. None of those heavy metal qualities that one associates with DT's songs. It is so sublime and so full of the feeling of having lost a loved one, that at the end of the song you will find your eyes wet with tears. You will not know where the tears came from .

If you've been fortunate enough to have fallen in love, you'll appreciate this song. And, identify with the emotions that flow through it from start to finish. Tugs at your heartstrings. Certainly ripped through mine. *Take a bow DT, take a bow*

Goosebumps

Goosebumps, yeah that's what I get when I listen to the song 'Under a Glass Moon' from the album 'Images and Words'. Awesome start by Labrie (vocals) ... jolts you from any other world that you may have been in and makes you sit up and take notice of the song. :)

The instrumentals in the beginning are the best I've heard amongst DT's gems. Awesome is not the word for this song as well. As addictive as all the other Dream Theater songs are. A great listen definitely. :D

DT on 9/11

The song 'Sacrificed sons' from the album 'Octavarium' speaks on the 9/11 terror attacks in the United states. Surely one song, that the evil people who indulge in terrorism, must listen to. Maybe they will have a change of heart and stop the violence and killing the world over. Classic lyrics by Labrie and equally beautiful vocals from him make this song a heartrending piece of work. DT literally beseech the people to see that the Scriptures are being misread and wrong is being done in the name of God.

No clues,a complete surprise
Who'll be,coming home tonight
Heads all turning,towards the sky
Towers crumble,heroes die

Who would wish this,On our people
And proclaim, that His will be done
Scriptures they heed have misled them
All praise their Sacrificed Sons

Teach them, what to think and feel
Your ways,so enlightening
Words they preach,I can't relate
If God's true Love, are acts of Hate

Please listen to this song Mr.Bin Laden ,if you don't get the chance, atleast read the lyrics and change for the better.

Lost in the ministry

"The ministry of lost souls".. another kick ass song from the album "Systematic Chaos" that I am addicted to. Any person with a sense of music/rhythm will love the soft music and the riffs. :D Labrie's vocals that are soothing on frayed nerves take you to a world of your own. Love it.

Extremely surreal atmosphere it creates. No words to describe this master piece as well. As the song goes... "Remember me.. I gave you life...." I will remember DT for the rest of my life and many more lives to come. Sigh, looks like this obsession isn't gonna end. Not for a long time to come. :D

Song of the moment

Right now nothing gets better than "In the presence of enemies part 1" from the album Systematic chaos. It wreaks havoc on the senses in more ways that one can imagine. The prelude simply kicks ass. Riffs that take you to a new high. :)

Nine minutes of sheer ecstasy and at the end of it you won't want to come out of the heady feeling. So what do you do? Simply play the song all over again (like I do now) and go crazy....start over again. :D .Try it.

If you've still not heard of DT upto now.. you are seriously missing something superb in life. Adjectives are not sufficient to describe the master piece that this song is. Hail DT! This is being typed as the song plays in the background.

I ask you as the song says.... "Do you still wait for your God? And the symbol of your faith?".. Why wait for God when he has given you Dream Theater? Why wait at all?

Bottomline : I am crazy.

Why Petrucci?

Why does Petrucci inspire me? I've racked my brains. The truth is I love Dream Theater as a band and not for any specific member per se. But, after watching the change of seasons video I can't stop raving about how well Petrucci plays the guitar. The sole reason why I've taken up guitar lessons. I know there may not even be the day where I'll come to playing half as well as he does, but nevertheless, I'll know I gave up trying.

It has to be sheer magic to watch him play that well and at such amazing speed.God knows how much I wanna see him play live. I'll probably go insane just at the sight of Dream Theater. I've written so much, yet can't figure out why he has influenced me so much.Guess, some things in life don't necessarily have a reason behind it. :) And Petrucci is one such phenomenon. After all, I am a part of the huge fan following around the universe and do acknowledge the fact(as mad as it may sound), that , yes I have converted to the religion called "Petruccism". :D
